Dear Kiddo #3

Dear Kiddo,
How amazing and resilient you are. I have thrown your whole world upside down for the past two weeks and today you bounced back into your routine just like it was never interupted. You have been constantly entertained by Grammy for the last two weeks and I really thought you were going to continue to need that attention after she left. Nope, today we went about our day, me cleaning and you playing with your toys and destroying what I just cleaned. But that is ok, you were being so good and not making that big of a mess. Even when I had a major hissy fit today, you were so concerned like such a sweet boy.

Thank you for such a good day and being such an awesome kiddo!

Dear Kiddo #2

What an exciting weekend you have had with your Grammy, Uncle and Aunt. You have been given so much fun and attention that I don't know what I am gonna do with you when it's just the two of us again! You make me so proud when you are so well behaved around everybody, even with the twos coming right around the corner. I will say this many times in your life, but where has the time gone? I was cradling you in my arms, and you still fit, just yesterday it seems. Now, I hold you in my arms and lap with limbs dangling everywhere! I have realized that no amount of words or outside experience can prepare a mother for the absolute heart filling joy of seeing her baby grow into a giggly, smiley, running, jumping, climbing, talking and singing toddler.
Today you sang about 3/4 of your ABC song to yourself as you were playing, including the ending with a cheer for yourself after you were done. I am still dumbfounded..absolutely dumbfounded. This came with no prompting from Mommy or anything. How amazing that you absorb so much around you to use in your own way and your own time.
Sweetheart, I am amazed by you, every morning, every day and every night when I sneak into your room to watch your precious sleeping face. Thank you for choosing me to be your mommy.

Dear Kiddo Day

So, I found this really cool idea on Cutest Kid Ever today. She writes to her youngsters every Saturday. While I love the idea, I can't guarantee I can limit it to Saturday, so I think I will just reserve it for when I wanna say something special about my baby boy.

Dear Kiddo,
You have changed so much in the last few months! Before we left for our trip, in April, you were repeating words without much meaning. We went on our trip and I watched as you blossomed and the world around you became more exciting because you began telling me all about it! Sometimes I think that being around more and different people helps you develop your vocabulary because it seems like every time you go on a trip it takes a big leap.
You have gone from single words, to now two and three word strings with a lot of meaning. You told me just yesterday "I get you!" That was one of the most precious things I have ever heard. When you got stuck in your chair, I asked you "Are you stuck?" and you turned it around and said "I stuck"! Oh my goodness. You're vocabulary is growing so fast, I can't even remember all of the words you have learned since Daddy has been away. He is going to be so surprised when you sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to yourself. You don't know that I know you can sing that. But I hear you when you are playing and singing it to yourself. Another of the most precious things I have ever heard.
I used to get really sad that I was losing my baby. But I am so excited to have my precocious little toddler to take his place. I love you baby..more than you will ever know!
Love,
Mommy
